The Company

What an opportunity to build your own team but as the facility itself is in the final stages of establishment, production looks set to begin in only a matter of months.
  
The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and driven General Manager to help re-open and manage this small stock processing plant. You’ll be responsible for the complete production process from small stock intake for chilled airfreight product through to managing the added value lamb processing section.
  
Being a senior management position, you’ll be reporting directly to the Managing Director with the establishment of best practice and a fantastic culture being at the core of the role. Additional responsibilities will also include;

  • Managing the business and the facility through the final stages of the plant build
  • Leading the recruitment process
  • Development and ongoing analysis of budgets and financial statements to forecast and monitor the financial position of the facility
  • Promoting efficiencies through the development, implementation and continual improvement of systems and processes
  • Establishing and maintaining legislative, market and client compliance.
  • Ensuring the safety of staff working in and visitors to the facility through the overseeing of the development of and implementation of Workplace Health and Safety systems
  • Leading a culture where all staff know they are valued and part of a team that is focused on achieving the same goals
  • Working with the Managing Director on projects and activities as required
  • Developing products for new and existing clients whilst delivering consistency

The Responsibilities
To be considered for this role you will ideally have demonstrated experience working in a large/medium-scale export abattoir and packaging operation, with at least 3 years in a senior managerial role. Additional requirements should include

  • Experience in building and implementing organisational plans and systems and processes
  • Leadership experience in setting and monitoring performance of large teams whilst mentoring and motivating them to continually improve
  • Management experience of the supply chain and its logistics
  • A problem-solving mentality with agility to build and continually analyse and improve current practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills up and down reporting channels
  • Solid experience in client and market legislation, auditing and compliance
  • A high standard of computer literacy

  

The Benefits:
We are offering salary packages from $170,000 - $190,000 but if you can demonstrate that you can hit the ground running, we are flexible. Also, if you are looking to relocate to Western Australia to join the team, we will certainly assist with your relocation costs.
